Alice in Fashionland

In my previous post Alice in Wonderland to visit the Red Queen, I never got to talk about the Alice in Wonderland Book of Shadows by Urban Decay since I wasn’t aware of its existence until recently *sorry*. So now, let me feature fashion trends inspired by the 2010 movie, the products are from an online store Claire’s, they showcase collections of hats, totes, mittens, pendants, shirts, and many more pieces that’s inspired by the characters in the movie.

In the first and original story of the book, Alice was roaming through the maze and found the Red queen’s soldiers painting the roses red.

Red Queen inspired.
Red is my fave color and this concept really appealed to me, although it has a very intimidating impression to it, you can’t deny that it’s a classic.

This is a more girly version of the twins, Tweedledum and Tweedledee.

The White Rabbit in a hurry, a more contemporary version. I really liked the
concept of the more personal touch to the Rabbit’s role in this story, echoed in the style of this clothing.

I liked this ensemble, simply because the Mad Hatter has been given an important role in the movie, also I was almost led to believe that something is brewing between Alice and the Mad Hatter, which is weird, in the sense that in the book, he’s a mad man. I like the purple eyes.

If the movie impressed you with it’s modern adaptation of the book Alice and Wonderland, I’m sure you’re also gonna love these fashion dish.

Give a dry spell for the coming rainy season!

Okay, so a lot of us must have been soaked with sweat this summer season, but let us not forget that we live in a tropical country and rainy season is fast approaching, I even heard from a neighbour that the Philippines is going to have La Niña this year! To those who don’t like being soaked with rain, especially going to school or work, here’s a stylish way we can get away amidst the rains and the winds!

1. Stylish eco-friendly shopping bag.
As a mother, it has been a habit of mine to carry at least one plastic bag in my purse, this is because there will be times when I need to drop by a store and buy food or something for the house or my kids, I learned that it is more practical to bring with me a nice foldable, reusable carry all shopping bag. These are types of bag that are made of durable and water-resistant materials. Most of these you can buy at a local shopping stall or night flea market for a cheap price. I got mine from Watsons as a freebie, and this is where I learned about it’s practicality.

2. Stylish durable plastic sandals.
We all know that when it rains, it pours, so better prepared than sorry. I know this from experience, I was wearing my black shoes to work yes, and it got soaked in the rain. Imagine the discomfort of wearing wet shoes for whole 9 hours! So better prepare and get a nice, decent looking durable plastic sandal, the type that doesn’t easily get weathered that can take you anywhere without breaking easily.

3. Suit up.
I agree, a durable and reliable umbrella can sometimes get pricey and then a strong wind blows, guess what, your Php600 umbrella just turned inside-out! If you can, and I found it better to wear a rain coat, to protect yourself from the rain. The advantage I get from these is that your head is also protected because of the hood, and the cold drafts of the wind, something that an umbrella cannot really protect you from.

4. Feeling sexy.
At this point, you might want to wear more fitted clothing, or something that would hug your body because, again, from experience, it’s really hard to manage when there’s strong wind blowing your clothing, plus hang-y clothes flap around and catch rain. And it’s not really funny spending another 8 hours trying to dry you out inside the office.

Well, I think you have the idea ^___^x

So, anyway, my tips or suggestion may not be a good one, but I hope that I still get an idea, for now, I need to sort out and fix my closet. Adieu!
