Counting sheep
Are you having trouble falling asleep? Afraid that insomnia got you in its clutches? Nothing is more frustrating when you know that you’re body is tired but your mind is still awake and you’re unable to get a good night’s sleep. It could also bring not only you discomfort but to that someone sleeping beside you. Insomnia is an indication of something, not a medical condition. Loss of proper sleep can bring you more health problems than just what it seems, because sleep helps your body to regenerate, but if it’s constantly interrupted, you will have the risk of getting hypertension, either weight loss or weight gain, and disturbed sleep can also result in daytime fatigue, reduced alertness and forgetfulness.
So what can we do to give ourselves that much need rest?
1. Make sure that your bedroom is conducive to sleep, well ventilated and and diffused noise if possible. You can always make the use of ear plugs, just keep everybody around you that you’re wearing one just in case of emergency.
2. You can also take a warm bath before sleeping, because this will make your muscles and body relaxed, and feeling fresh.
3. A warm cup of milk can also help.
4. A soothing music can also help you induce sleep.
5. Stay away from caffeine, nicotine or any alcohol before going to bed. Alcohol will only give you more bad headaches or hang over when you wake up.
6. If possible always get up and go to bed on time, our body can only adapt to a routine when it’s established for quite a long while, it may be hard at first but if you’re really willing to take care of your body, a routine is what you need.
Hope it helps!
